Sake’d Not Stirred (Microfiction Monday #66)

“How’s it goin’, dude?”

Nowhere fast, dude. Didn’t the doc tell you when the casts ‘re supposed to come off?”

“Um … y’don’t wanna know.”

Sheesh, dude! Y’know how borin’ it is just havin’ to lie here?”

“Aha. I was wonderin’ how come your nose was gettin’ longer all of a sudden. Y’could try tellin’ …”

Not! Jeez, dude, if I could get up I’d …”

Chill, dude! Just think, you’ve got all the time in the world to work on stuff like this.”

“Hm. Where’s it from?”

“It’s the latest from Susan at Stony River.”

“Another story prompt? Right, dude. You take it. After what this Quilly’s dam pair of skates did to me, I ain’t gettin’ nowhere close to that dude with the sword. That umbrella’s ’bout to be history, and the fat guy with it.”

“Oh, I dunno, dude. He don’t look too worried.”

“An’ what does he think he’s gonna do ’bout it, flat on the ground and with his own sword still in its sheath?

“It’s like this, dude:”

Fortunately, Torunaga had been secretly raiding Blackthorne’s stash of Bond movies and had completed his first gadget – an umbrella musket.

“Uh huh. An’ after this Torowhozis has blown the other guy away, he calmly picks up his shoe phone an’ calls 9-1-1?”

“I said this was his first gadget, dude! B’sides. Do you see any shoes in this picture?”

“No, dude, but I do see irises.”

“So?”

They make no scents, dude! Just like your story!”

Sake(‘d) not stirred — too funny, almost punny. And the musket umbrella sounds like it will come in handy.
