The Dark Side (Microfiction Monday #65)

“Tuscon?”

“Tuscon what?”

“Is that where this ‘Dark Side’ you’re talkin’ about is?”

“Yer confusin’ that with ‘Night of the Long Knives’, dude. Different horror movie. I’m lookin’ at this here pic.”

“Hmmm. ‘K, I get the hoodie, but what’s with the steely dude with wings? Star WarsGodzilla crossover? I thought this Susan was a Trekkie anyways, not a Lucas clone.”

“Not quite, dude. The Godzilla monster thingy was Mothra. A girl. Kinda your type.”

Hey!

“The statue’s of Mothman. Showed up in West Virginia ‘few decades ago an’ predicted a bridge collapse ‘r somethin’. Kinda a Nostradamus with wings.”

“So what’s that have to do with the kid in the hoodie?”

“It’s like this, dude:”

Mothman, prior to his gig in Earth’s North America, had a prophetic career on the planet Naboo. But the young Palpatine went over to the Dark Side anyway.

“I don’t think that’s Star Wars canon, dude.”

“Why not? He grew up to have plenty of cannon fodder, didn’t he?”

“Dude?”

“What?”

” … Oh, never mind.”
